8 months for Jackbaby!

First let me preface this by saying holy moly is this kid changing.  My-oh-my he has absolutely DOMINATED this past month.  This post even has 2, yes TWO videos that prove his domination! I really hate the cliche of saying it goes by fast and I say that again and again that I hate that cliche, but sweet fancy Moses, time has FLOWN by!  Jackman is 8 months old as of Monday, December 3rd!  What's even scarier is I only have less than 4 months to get my booty in gear for his first birthday party.  Eeeek!  I have the idea, but I suppose it's best to buy a few things at a time.

Anyway, in the past month, our child has not only mastered the art of crawling (and as they say on Duck Dynasty, "HE GOWNE!", he is pulling up, and standing up against any sturdy object around which have resulted in a few ouchies.  We do have one tough kiddo though.  Go on brush yo shouldas off, dude.  Also, he's been quite the sick little stinker.  Like really sick.  Got croup and wowza, that SUCKS.  Poor babe.

STATS - JACK ROBERT THOMAS
~8 MONTHS~

WEIGHT: 18lbs (and yes, we only know this because he has been a Sicky Ricky all month long - is this my repayment for the stoppage of breastfeeding?)
HEIGHT: @29.5 inches
HEAD: 46cm

LIKES: GETTING. INTO. EVERYTHING.  Literally.  The kid is the nosiest thing on the block.  Real talk.  He also LOVES being outside, LOVES trying to stand, LOVES the sound his hands make on our stone tile floor, LOVES being mobile and crawling EVERYWHERE, LOVES standing up in his crib, LOVES babbling incoherently n.o.n.s.t.o.p., LOVES his "Leo" the lion, LOVES to "jumpy-jump" in his jumper.

FIRSTS: crawling, standing up in his crib (we officially have it all the way lowered now), Thanksgiving, getting croup, pulling up, standing against his toys, supervising the Christmas light placement and decorating

CLOTHES: 6-9 months and 9 months.  He's a long and lean machine.

DIAPERS:  Huggies, size 3.

TRICKS:  Jackman is GONE.  Crawling alllllll over the place and he. is. fast.  He's also started getting on his knees to play and also will get up on his feet and push random things across the floor.  We bought a new big package of toilet paper and he has been pushing it across our living room floor for days.  He also can respond to you by mimicking the sounds you make and will have a faux conversation with you...and full-on.  He loves it.  If you ask him to give "Leo" or one of his "rowdy friends" (as B calls them) a kiss, you can put it to his face and he'll lean in, mouth open of course, but he'll put his mouth to it.

Standing evidence...

Crawling Evidence...

Proof of sound mimicking...
(**DISCLAIMER: excuse the Dawson's Creek heinousness in the background - I was in the backseat with him and couldn't get to the radio to change it...besides that, THIS is pretty stinkin' cute, if I do say so myself)

EATING:  He's moving on to more and more solid foods.  He gets food processed meats with veggies and then the fresh veggies and fruit I make in addition to about 28oz. of milk a day.  He holds his own bottle and also drinks water and baby apple juice out of a sippy cup now.  He's so legit.

FUN FACTS:  Baby Jack drinks baby apple juice out of a sippy cup.  He has also just now about made it through his first bout with croup...poor little buddy - he felt so bad and was just so pitiful - broke Mommy's heart!  Jackman will crawl to ANYTHING he's not supposed to faster than he crawls to anything this is not limited to remotes, beer bottles, phones, cameras, computers, etc.  He also has a big love for Elmo and the Elmo song. He's quite the dancer and the Elmo song is his jam fo sho!
