Yesterday (Sunday), we had our very first shower hosted by my 3 aunts (my mom's 3 sisters). It was beautiful and so much fun! I was a bit worried people would not be able to attend because it was shorter notice, but we had a nice turn out! Thank you to EVERYONE for coming!!! Jack sure is one loved, lucky little man!
Here are some pics of his goods...

His Mamaw and Papaw got him his travel system! This is the baby carrier portion...duh :) |

|
One of my aunts (Libby) and her daughters, were unable to attend and thus host too...but they sent these to me last week (they all live in South Carolina)...
|
the whirpool/ spa tub (you saw this above), a bath set, bath toys, hooded towels, and washcloths so J-man can bathe in luxury and style...hahaha! |
|
I came home to THESE on my front porch! Extra special delivery!!! |
Aunt Libby also sent a fabulous diaper cake and me a corsage to wear made out of baby socks...how absolutely amazing is THAT?!? She was hundreds of miles away and still left quite an impact on the shower! The pictures that you've seen are not all of his gifts (he got a so very precious cow humidifier from Salsman and Robin) and are not all of the pics from the shower (again, I have to locate my camera cord), but I just wanted to give a sneak peak of Jackbaby's lovin' from this weekend that we are more than grateful for! We feel so blessed. So, so blessed.
Since the theme of our life these days are project filled weekends, B and his dad took to steam cleaning our carpets while his mom and I were at the shower...so this is what I came home too...
|
it's amazing how much bigger it looks without all of our furniture! |
|
waaahoooo, clean carpet! |
Our carpets have seriously NEVER looked better. Don't worry, I'll have some kind of stain on there by the end of the week. No problem.
Here's my project for the weekend...
I took some old windows and painted them like his dresser and the letters (blue paint, crackle gloss coat, and then gold gloss finish). Next, I plan on hanging those vintage knobs from the window and hanging this above his crib. What do you think?!? There is another one, but that obviously won't have his name too.
PS, Anyone have any ideas where I can get an old bookcase? Look are not important as I will be painting it to match his dresser, letters, and the old window panes, but I'd like it to be sturdy and fairly big. We looked at a few secondhand stores this weekend and I found exactly what I was looking for, but of course...it was not for sale. Booooo. I'd love any suggestions!!!
